That Just Happened!

My sister got married!  

I am so proud of her and Kyle, it was a fantastic day.  Despite being a little gloomy at the beginning of the day, the sun came peeking out from behind the clouds.  Which is fantastic, because how else is her dress supposed to sparkle?  The food just kept coming, and coming, and coming.  I am pretty sure that if I tried to put on my dress now it would not do up.  Loved  the wedding cake (three layers, three flavours) and the delicious pasta appetizer.  Yum!  And the dancing…oh, the dancing.   I literally have bruises on the balls of my feet and my calves hurt like crazy.  I deem it a success.

We were on time all day (even early!).  When the photographers showed up we were sitting in the hotel room eating pizza because our hair and makeup was already finished (thank you Mary Ellen). 

Oh, and I did manage to fit into my dress, but the lady had to let it out some.  I figure that’s still a win on my part. 

It also turns out that a lot of my cousins are reading my blog (shout outs to AJ, Li, and Ash), so I was hearing a lot of “That Just Happened!”   It warms the cackles of me ‘eart, it does.  Leave comments!

I made it through my speech without fainting or vomiting, plus I got a lot of rad compliments on it.  All I could think was “thank goodness that is over”. 

I have no pictures right now, but I managed to rip this one off Matt Bukoski’s Facebook page (one of the groomsmen, who looks like the Brawny towel guy with his beard).  Once I have more, I will post some.

Yeah, That Just Happened!

Saturday Night was Stephtastic’s Bachelorette. I finally got my voice back today. It was fun, but of course all the gory details are unfit to print.  I must say it was a learning experience. 

Things I Learned at My Sister’s Bachelorette.

1. Boys will do anything for a girl in a veil.  Anything.
2. Everyone wishes the bridesmaids good luck as well.  Everyone just wants us to be “lucky”.
3. The amazingly fabulous guy at Starbucks lets us take “one more” picture in the store, even though it isn’t allowed.  Apparently brides can break the rules.
4. MPW is the most patient man in the world.  He picked us up at 3:00 in the morning and drove the girls to the hotel while every time the car stopped I yelled out the window to random people on the street “My sister’s getting mar-ried” (hence no voice).  Hey, it’s Toronto.  There are always people awake.
5. Cops like getting their pictures taken.  I think it improves their community image.
6. Girls give their boyfriends dirty looks when they see others getting married.
7. VIP is the only way to go. Now I know why the celebs like it.
8. I dolook good in a tiara.  Stephtastic is right, my head is made for them.
9. People want to get their pic taken with the bride-to-be.  She’s kind of like Madonna that way.

Yeah, That Just Happened!

I don’t have anything to say.  Well, that’s a lie.  I have lots to say, but no energy to type it.  I am feeling awfully apathetic.  I’m covering reception today and I need a blanket. The front vestibule is the friggin pits.  I am freezing!

I will share some awesome news with you though.  A while ago Stephtastic joined a Roller Derby league (very Drew Barrymore, I know) and she had an exam on Wednesday night.  Which she passed with rolling  flying colours.  Only 2/3 of the class passed and move on to the next round before the draft.  These women are ka-ray-zee!  Seriously.  Next module focuses on endurance and fine tuning their techniques.  Since Stephtastic does triathlons, half marathons, and hour upon hour upon hour of spin class, I am sure she is going to rock the crap outta it.  So congrats to Stephtastic!
