Vikings Destroyed Cowboys: One For The History Books.
Posted in Football on 01/19/2010 08:00 am by JennOhhkay. So, the Vikings/Cowboys game was on this weekend. I must admit, I was a bit nervous (see, Brett! Another thing we have in common. *sigh*). However, the Vikings were ON! Yep, even their defense was playing instead of bumbling around the field like they are little plastic men on a fooseball table. Suck it Tony Romo! (okay, I’ll accept my penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct on the blog.)
Fantastic! Sidney Rice was on fire! Brett was cocky as ever and his arm was in peak form. He wanted it bad. He was out to prove that he could beat Dallas in a post-season game, something he had yet to do. Also, I think it also helped that the Viking’s Special Teams was accurate, which is more than I can say for the Cowboy’s (*ahem* #4 Shaun Suisham). Although I did feel bad for Suisham because he looked like he was going to puke after missing the second kick. Puke, or cry, but since there is no crying in football my money is on puke.
What I wouldn’t have put money on is Brooking’s hissy fit. Right up on the Viking’s sidelines shouting at anyone and everyone his teary little eye landed on. But I digress.
The Vikings won decisively. 34-3 to be exact. They were winning so decisively that any points scored was just racking up points and, according to Brooking, “totally classless and disrespectful.” Are you serious? Gawsh, you are even more of a pansy than Romo (The Cowboy’s Quarterback). At least we know Romo went into the locker room and started beating his team down with his jock strap (kidding! I can’t make that claim, but he should have!). As everyone is saying, Brooking, if you didn’t like it, stop them! For cryin out loud, you were all on the frickin field, where were you when this play went down? Why didn’t you do your job? Yeah, maybe it was rubbing a bit of salt in the wound, but honestly, when you have the ball that often, that close to the end zone, you start looking like you aren’t playing at all are fixing the game when you don’t score.
Final verdict: Vikings played a great game, let’s hope they come back like that next Sunday. Cowboys, you totally dropped the ball (quite literally), better luck next year. As for Brooking, “He’s right. This is the NFL, not high school or college. The Dallas Cowboys don’t get sympathy. Throwing that pass may not have been the greatest sportsmanship, but it also wasn’t an affront to decency. If Brooking didn’t want Minnesota to score then maybe he and his 10 teammates on the field should have done something about it.” (Chris Chase). Couldn’t have said it better myself.
Which only leaves one question. What did Favre yell in Romo’s ear after the game?
Yeah, That Just Happened!

Unfortunately, the Panthers just wanted it more. You could tell from the beginning they were fired up and ready to go. They were energetic, aggressive and drove the pace (something Favre is infamous for doing). In short, the Panthers played like the Vikings and the Vikings played like dirt. So really, not at all.
