Another Bride-to Be!

So, my lovely cousin Ashley, recent co-MOH  to her sister Lisa, is going to be a bride!  This past weekend, her lovely boyfriend Scott finally  popped the question.  MPW and I could not be happier for them, they have been together longer than us, and that is a looooong time.  What’s next, Ash?  Engagement photos?  Engagement party?  Have you picked the date?  How did he propose?!  So many questions, so not my business at all.  Oh well.

Congrats to the happy couple!

June Weddings are so Lovely

I am thrilled to announce that on June 12, 2010 my cousin Lisa married her now-hubby Brad.  I am even more thrilled to announce that pictures have finally been posted, because like a dumb-dumb I forgot my camera.  D’oh!  It was an absolutely beautiful day and it was obvious a lot of work went into the preparations for this wedding.

Lisa, Mel (her best friend and MOH) and Ashley (her sister and MOH) and some others made each of these flowers out of thousands of tiny pieces of paper!  What  a troupe!

She also had lovely pink daisies in the bouquets (my fave flower! SO gorgeous!)

There were many, many photos of the bride and groom, but this one with their Little Guy is my absolute fave.

Brad even agreed to marry her, despite the Rev. asking if he would take ”Denise” as his wife.  And of course, there were many lovelies standing by to witness it.  In fact, the wedding party totalled 14 people!  Of course, Lisa’s sister Ashley, and their sister-in-law Steph were on hand to help with any and all emergencies while looking stunning throughout.

There was food, drink and speeches and the love was evident throughout.  Thank goodness Lisa and Brad had Jennifer Sullivan Photography on hand to capture all the special moments.  Despite the iffy weather, this was definitely a day to remember.  Thanks to Lisa, Brad and their Little Guy for inviting MPW and I to be a part of your day.

We’re Goin’ to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo, How about You, You, You?

As mentioned previously, Sunday was a very special outing.  As you may have guessed from the post title, we went to the Toronto Zoo!  What fun!  MPW, my mom, Stephtastic, KB, Jamo, and my cousin’s husband Tim and their little Timbit.  Unfortunately, there won’t be any pictures of Timbit because his parents don’t really like him being on the internet, but trust me when I say he was adorable!  So cute and vocal.  He laughed and laughed and laughed and flirted and flirted and flirted.  Seriously, at 1-year old he has more game than most guys I know.

I can, however, show you some pics of the animals.  We saw lions and tigers and other animals.  You thought I was going to say bears, didn’t you?  Well I saw polar bears, but not grizzlies because you have to walk down the steepest hill ever to get to them.  Seriously, coming back up I have seen parents pushing their strollers with their backs because it is so steep and strollers are suprisingly heavy!  Plus, it was H.O.T!

Yes, the theme of the last week.  It has been really, really hot here in Toronto.  It’s not the temperature that is killer, it’s the humidity.  Honestly, it is 30 degrees celcius, but feels like 42 with the humid factor.  Which means it feels like 107°F.  Walking around the zoo was hot and the indoor exhibits don’t have air conditioning.  Even the tiger was in the water!  Near the end of the day it clouded over, which was a temporary relief.   Temporary because it started pouring! Luckily, MPW were 10 feet away from the car.  If we had decided to see the grizzlies, we would have been soaked, so I think it was a good decision to leave when we did.

I like the Toronto Zoo and think it is so educational, but I must admit, seeing the animals in their cages makes me a little sad.  However, I know they get the best care and the Zoo is fundraising like crazy to update their exhibits.  In addition, there are extensive programs that help to reintroduce endangered animals into the wild.  Without further ado, here are some pictures from our outing.

One final pic for you, the following is a tongue-in-cheek commentary on global warming.
