I Love a Good Challenge.

Oooh I am so excited!  Today is a great day.  Not only is a Friday, but all of the 2010 challenges are getting posted.  There are also a ton of December/Holiday challenges as well and one of them starts today!  Wooohooo! (I just cannot contain myself).

christmas-ornaments-1-1 Starts today!  I can’t wait to start into my books.  Just a reminder it is hosted by All About {n} and there is still time to sign up.  If you would like to sign up head over there now. I think it will definitely help to get in the holiday spirit.  My books are listed here.

bbhs_teaser_smallI have my Book Blogger Secret Santa gift almost ready to go.  I have a card and part of it, so I should be ready to send it out after the weekend.  Yeah, I am excited for the surprise.

So now, the new Challenges I am looking forward to.

Well, you all know how I feel about the library.  I have a kind of love-hate relationship with it.  I love the fact that I can get books for free. I hate how long it takes to get a new release.  However, I am going to participate in the 2010 Support Your Library Challenge, hosted by J. Kaye.  And it comes with this nifty button!

I will be participating at the “Just My Size – Check out and read 50 library books” level.  I think it is totally do-able because each trip I take out more than one book and if I went every two weeks and read each book…well, I’ll work out the details later.  The good thing is crossovers from other reading challenges count, so if I check out a book from the library I can count it towards this one and let’s say…

This challenge!  The 2010 Young Adult Reading Challenge, also hosted by J. Kaye.  (Have I mentioned how awesome J. Kaye’s blog is?  I love challenges. I am kindof  very competitive, even with myself. I’m like Monica Geller that way.)  Also with its own nifty button, this challenge offers a few different levels as well.  I am not a huge reader of YA novels, but there have been so many recommended to me that I figure if I am going to read them all it might be towards a challenge, right?   Although I have a lot recommended to me, I have so many other books on my list that for this one I am participating in “The Mini YA Reading Challenge – Read 12 Young Adult novels.”  I figure that should be enough to get my feet wet, right?  Here is the nifty button for that one.

The great thing about J. Kaye’s challenges is that you do not have to have a blog to participate, so go there to check out how to participate.

Of course, my own personal challenge will continue, probably throughout 2010 and the next.  Some books are really difficult to find!  No button for that one, but you can go here to see what it is about.  There are a few other challenges I am wanting to participate in over at MizB’s, so I will be keeping my eye out for the sign up dates on those.

Well, I think this is definitely enough for one gal!  I haven’t ever really participated in a challenge before because I am a newbie to the blogging world, but I am not new to reading, so this is awesome!  I think this will also give some direction to my reading and it will also force me to pick up books I otherwise would not have (especially the YA challenge).  The only other thing I will mention is Kailana from The Written World and Marg from Reading Adventures are hosting the 2009 Virtual Advent Tour.

Each day anyone who wants to participate takes turns sharing a treat with our friends here in blogland. For example it could be something about your family traditions, recipes, your country’s holiday traditions, or a favourite Christmas memory, movie, book, song…anything you like. Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas we would like to hear about what your family does during the holiday season, whether it be celebrating Hanukkah or Kwanzaa or whatever it is that you do during this time.

Although I have not signed up to participate this year (I’m a little intimidated!) I will be following along as all these other wonderful bloggers talk about how they spend their Holidays.

Well. *whew* I think that is it for now!  This has been quite the update.  Like I said before, anyone who wants to participate can click on the links throughout this post. There are tons to choose from and these are just a few. Not a blogger, not a problem!  A lot of hosts offer non-bloggers the chance to participate. They understand that not everyone who reads, blogs. (We just like to brag about it more).  Okay, I am off to the Mr. Linkys to sign up for all these wonderful challenges. (Buttons will be posted to my sidebar soon!)
