Getting Into the Holiday Spirit

I usually do not post on the weekends, but this is too good to resist.

I am well aware that as of November 1, when the Halloween candy comes off the shelf, I should automatically be thrown into decking my halls.  However, each year I try to resist.  I mean we just had Halloween and now I am supposed to be panicking about buying all those gifts for loved ones, being happy, spending time with family, smelling like Christmas tree and gingerbread?  That’s a lot of pressure and there isn’t even a flake on the ground (thank goodness!).  Yesterday I went to the mall with my sister and we were inundated with Holiday paraphernalia, a huge wreath with strobe lights in it and trees adorning the halls. Not to mention the crazy shoppers laden with bags (Santa’s Little Helpers no doubt).

No, I say, No!  I will not be forced to panic!  I will not!  I do love the holidays though…

So to ease my way into it, this year I will be participating in the 2009 Holiday Reading Challenge hosted by All About {n}.  (You can go to the link to sign up and see the rules).  This challenge looks like so much fun, and how can I resist being allowed to curl up on the couch with a hot chocolate (cause it is that cold here. I am a suck.) and read?  The books I plan on reading are:

  1. What is Myrrh Anyway?  Jonathan Green
  2. Skipping Christmas  John Grisham
  3. The Christmas List   Richard Paul Evans
  4. A Cedar Cove Christmas   Debbie Macomber
  5. The Gift   Cecilia Ahern

And my alternate is Dashing Through the Snow Mary and Carol Higgins Clark

I will keep you posted as I go along!
